StoryDomes is a service of EstiMedia. We make interactive 360° worlds, which means we film and photograph real places and, often, real people. This statement explains which personal data we handle, why, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, in Dutch: AVG).

EstiMedia is the controller for the personal data described in this statement, except where section 5 says otherwise.

4. When we film or photograph people
People are what make a StoryDome come alive, so we take extra care here.
- Featured people give consent first. Anyone who is interviewed or clearly shown in a hotspot video or photo signs a short release form before the recording is used. It explains where the recording will appear and for how long.
- No is a fine answer. Nobody has to take part. If you'd rather not be recorded, tell us or the organisation we're working for, and we'll film around you.
- Bystanders stay unrecognisable. A 360° camera sees everything. We plan shoots to avoid capturing people who aren't taking part, and we blur faces and screens that shouldn't be recognisable.
- Employees. When we film at a workplace, for example for a hiring StoryDome, the employer is responsible for informing staff in advance. Taking part is always voluntary and has no consequences for anyone's job.
- Children. We only feature children under 16 with written consent from a parent or guardian.
- Changing your mind. You can withdraw your consent at any time. We'll then remove or blur you in the StoryDome as soon as reasonably possible. Withdrawing doesn't affect use that happened before.
5. When we work on behalf of a client
A StoryDome is made for a client and usually published on that client's website. The client decides what the StoryDome is for, so for the people featured in it, the client is usually the controller. Where we store or host personal data on the client's behalf, we act as their processor and sign a data processing agreement (verwerkersovereenkomst). Questions about a StoryDome on another organisation's website can go to that organisation, or to us and we'll pass them on.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website and our StoryDomes do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or visitor analytics. We don't build profiles of visitors. If this ever changes, we'll update this statement first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. To deliver them, Google receives your IP address. Google's own privacy policy applies to that.
7. Who we share data with
We never sell personal data. We only share it with parties that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Our website and StoryDome hosting provider: [name of host]
- Our email provider: Google (Gmail)
- Our accountant, for invoices and bookkeeping
- Freelancers who help on a shoot or in editing, bound by confidentiality
- Authorities, when the law requires it
We prefer providers that store data within the European Union. If data does go outside the EU, we only do so with the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
8. How we protect your data
We keep footage and client files on password-protected, encrypted storage with backups, use secure (HTTPS) connections on our websites, and give access only to people working on the project.
9. Your rights
You have the right to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to limit or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email us at production.estimedia@gmail.com. We'll respond within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you're not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
10. Changes to this statement
We may update this statement when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
